Our warranty is as solid as our windows and doors. It covers our window and patio door glass options for 20 years and covers window and patio door components for up to 10 years. Odds are, you may never have any problems. But it's nice to know we're standing solidly behind them if you do.
1994 LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY
Insulated Glass
All Hurd insulated glass is warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the product.
Years 1-10 --- 100%
Years 11-Life --- 50% of the Current Published Catalog Price
TEN YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
General Products (Non-Glass)
All Hurd window and door components are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase.
Any implied warranty which the purchaser may have is limited in duration to the period under the written warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
In the event the product fails to conform to the foregoing warranties in the first ten (10) years, Hurd will repair or replace defective materials with another product or part thereof. Current design may be substituted for the original. If repair or replacement is not commercially practicable or cannot be timely make, or if Hurd proposes to make a refund instead of repair or replacement and you are willing to accept the refund, Hurd will refund your original product purchase price or the original Hurd catalog price, whichever is less.
However, if any Hurd insulated glass fails to conform to the foregoing warranty more than ten (10) years from the date of purchase, Hurd will provide replacement insulated glass at a cost to you of only 50% of the then Hurd published catalog price.
In no event shall any handling, labor, or installation cost be included with these warranties.
If Hurd chooses to replace defective products or parts thereof, it will pay for the freight to deliver the replacement materials to the place where the product was first delivered from Hurd's factory. Any freight or delivery charges beyond that destination will be your responsibility.
These two warranties do not cover problems caused by:
- Misapplication
- Installation in unworkmanlike manner
- High indoor humidities
- Use of films and/or coating on interior of product
- Product that has been abused, misused, altered, or used in corrosive environments
- Acts of God
- Improper finishing (painting, staining)
- Brass hardware finishes
- Exposure to elements, discoloration, or worn out parts
- Units subject to stress from movement of the building in which installed, or
- Excessive difference on glass surface temperature
In no event shall Hurd be liable for any consequential or incidental damage for any amount in excess of the purchase price, whether the claim is for breach of warranty or negligence or otherwise. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. NO ONE IS AUTORIZED TO EXPAND THESE WRITTEN WARRANTIES.
This warranty is only applicable in the USA and District of Columbia.
This warranty is effective January 1, 1994.
