Hurd Sets Industry Precedent with Free Anodizing
Anodizing results in longer life, lower maintenance of windows, doors
The value of anodized aluminum on doors and windows is undisputed. The value of anodizing those products at no charge is unprecedented. Hurd Windows and Doors is the only manufacturer to provide free anodizing on all its residential and light commercial products.
Anodizing gives the aluminum on Hurd clad wood windows and patio doors a harder, more durable finish. According to Hurd Vice President of Marketing Joe Herman, this results in a longer lasting product that requires less maintenance. "Anodized aluminum will more effectively withstand the elements with its proven resistance to scratching, chipping, peeling, and weathering. Factor in greater fade resistance, and it's the perfect complement to the warmth and beauty of the interior wood," he said.
Hurd offers several anodized aluminum cladding color options from which to choose: clear, champagne, light bronze, medium bronze and dark bronze. "By providing anodized finishes as part of our standardized offer, Hurd is the only window and door company to offer such durability and longevity without burdening the builder with mounting incremental expense," explained Herman.
The no-charge-anodizing offer extends to Hurd's full line of aluminum clad wood windows and patio doors for the residential market, as well as to its light commercial products, including the new Monument line. Additionally, Hurd offers the largest glazing selection available today with its comprehensive ComfortGlaze™ offering. Beyond insulated and Low-E glass, consumers can choose from Energy Star™ energy-efficient solutions including Hurd's exclusive UV blocking ClimaGuard SPF™, Climate Control™, Sun Blocker™, Super Sun Blocker™, and Hurd FeelSafe™ impact-resistant laminated and laminated insulated glass. Also available is Sound Control laminate protective glass.
