Hurd Extends Free Anodizing to Light Commercial Market
Offer is unrivaled in industry
The value of anodized aluminum on doors and windows is undisputed. The value of anodizing those products at no charge is virtually unprecedented. Hurd Windows and Doors announced at the International Builders Show that it will be extending its free anodizing program, which it already offers on residential products, to the light commercial market.
Anodizing gives the aluminum on Hurd clad wood windows and patio doors, including its new Monument line for the light commercial market, a harder, more durable finish. This results in a longer lasting product that requires less maintenance. Anodized aluminum will more effectively withstand the rigors of light commercial construction with its proven resistance to scratching, chipping, peeling, and weathering. Factor in greater fade resistance, and it's the perfect complement to the warmth and beauty of the interior wood.
Architects and builders can choose from several anodized aluminum cladding color options: clear, champagne, light bronze, medium bronze and dark bronze. "By providing anodized finishes as part of our standardized offer, Hurd is the only window and door company to offer such durability and longevity without burdening the builder with mounting incremental expense," explained Hurd Vice President of Marketing Joe Herman.
Hurd's new Monument product line epitomizes heavy-duty wood construction with extra-thick extruded aluminum cladding. Beyond the no-charge anodizing, a number of construction enhancements are available, including a rigid nailing fin option. Additionally, Hurd offers a wide range of glazing options such as the superior protection of ClimaGuard SPF that blocks excessive solar heat gain and maximizes natural daylight.
The Monument window line features casements, awnings, single and double hung products, picture windows, direct sets and architectural shapes. As part of its light commercial door line, a sliding French patio door and outswing French door are available.
The product line also includes the Historic series of doors and windows. The all-wood construction can be custom-matched to virtually any historic profile or time detail.
