Hurd Recognized by Governor Doyle for ‘Extraordinary Results in International Sales’

Medford, WI – June 2, 2009 – Each year, the Governor of Wisconsin recognizes firms and organizations that have achieved extraordinary results in international sales or have contributed to Wisconsin’s increased ability to compete in a global market. This year’s winner of the Governor’s Export Achievement Award in the Medium Manufacturer category went to HWD Acquisition, Inc. d/b/a Hurd Windows & Doors.

Dominic Truniger, Hurd president, and Scott Klieforth, Hurd international sales manager, accepted the award from Governor Doyle at a ceremony in Milwaukee on May 12 honoring Hurd and nine other Wisconsin agricultural and manufacturing companies. The Export Achievement Award honored the company for their innovation, effectiveness and special effort in growing exports, and enhancing employment, the economy and the international prestige of Wisconsin.

“We are focused on dramatically expanding our international market presence,” said Truniger. “We are encouraged with the success we have achieved so far – growing our 2008 international sales by more than 66 percent. This success has helped diversify us beyond the current challenges of our domestic economy and we are honored by the recognition our achievements have earned.”
