Hurd H3 Innovation Honored With Crystal Achievement Award

Voted Most Innovative Window of the Year by Industry Peers

Medford, WI – November 10, 2009 – Hurd® was recently recognized by Window & Door Magazine with a 2009 Crystal Achievement Award for the Most Innovative Window of the Year. The prestigious industry award was garnered by the company’s new H3™ window line.

A panel of judges representing all segments of the industry selected the Crystal Achievement Award winners. The awards recognize significant innovations and achievements in window and door technology, manufacturing and marketing.

Hurd unveiled its H3 window –- which has all the features and performance of a premium window at a modest price –- earlier this year at the 2009 International Builders’ Show in January. Through its exclusive Fusion Technology™, the H3 seamlessly integrates extruded aluminum cladding, a vinyl base frame and a solid wood interior into a single window.

“We’ve been in this business for 90 years, so we understand the value of innovation and timing,” said Vice President of Marketing Joe Herman. “And, while the H3 was three years in the making, we think its timing was perfect. We believe builders and consumers are responding very favorably to the H3 because it is a high-end, high-tech, high-performance window that isn’t high priced.”

“The shifting landscape in the industry has presented an opportunity for companies to pursue creative business practices and marketing approaches,” notes Christina Lewellen, Window & Door senior editor and coordinator of the awards program. “This year’s winners certainly rise above the status quo.”
