Putting Mother Nature in Her Place
Hurd Windows & Doors expanded casement window line
MEDFORD, WI (11 January 2006) - By nature, windows are designed to showcase the outdoors. But with rising energy costs, homeowners are increasingly concerned about keeping Mother Nature outside. Hurd Windows & Doors expanded casement window line is designed with energy efficiency and style in mind. Hurd's new casements feature superior glazing, heavier extrusions and new contemporary designs including French, springline and arched casements.
"Hurd now offers a complete line of casement windows, including popular styles such as arched, springline and French" said Jim Peterson, Hurd director of product engineering. "Casement windows are the most popular since they offer unobstructed views. All Hurd casement windows are hand crafted for superior fit, appearance and performance."
Improved materials and updated, stylish new hardware are now standard on every Hurd casement window. Available in either aluminum clad wood or all-wood, Hurd casement windows offer homeowners clean lines and smooth operation. New Encore hardware features a handle that folds out when used but folds away so it doesn't interfere with window treatments. Homeowners can choose from eleven different hardware finishes, including popular brushed nickel, polished chrome, antique brass or oil-rubbed bronze. Plus, Hurd casement windows swing open a full 90 degrees for wide-open ventilation and easy cleaning.
Hurd's FeelSafe casement window is ideal for homes in coastal regions or other locales with high winds or frequent storms. Hurd FeelSafe casement windows are constructed of high-strength, shatter-resistant, laminated glass. Weatherstripping is on top of the sash and a positive locking mechanism ensures a tight fit when closed. A corrosion-resistant gear operator arm and dual arms of 300 series stainless steel complete the window, making it the ultimate choice in coastal performance.
"Our expanded product lines make Hurd an ideal choice for today's luxury homes," said Peterson. "Homeowners are building bigger, more dramatic homes with equally dramatic openings. Our windows are made with aesthetic appeal and impact top-of-mind. With so many options, Hurd has the perfect window for every opening."
All of Hurd's new casement windows are on display at the
2006 International Builders Show in Orlando, FL.
Hurd is located at booth W559.
